High Availability on Open Television: The Experience of El Nueve
At 3Way Solutions we share the excellent operational results achieved after the implementation of our software platform in Canal 9 in Argentina (El Nueve) . Being one of the most traditional open television stations, with a grid strongly focused on the production of live content and highly deployed newscasts, this project consolidates our position as a strategic technological partner for television channels with massive national transmission.
Canal 9's engineering team needed to renew its storage and quality control systems. The station required centralized, continuous capture of its Buenos Aires feed and digital formats, supporting compliance recording and fast access for production teams. Our signal monitoring and recording platform brings these tasks together in one interface.
Implementation and Technical Capabilities of the System
The deployment combines Logging, Clipping and Multiviewer, designed for demanding 24/7 operations. Canal 9 added the following tools to its daily workflow:
Continuous Compliance Logging: A television signal monitoring and recording environment captures off-air signals with efficient video, audio and metadata encoding, including Closed Caption, enabling fast searches for regulatory and commercial audits. Fast Web Clipping: A native HTML5 interface lets content producers and social media teams remotely clip breaking news from live broadcasts and upload it to digital platforms. Real-time Monitoring: Master control operators can monitor the technical health of the broadcast stream, with automated alerts for faults and signal outages.
