Telecable Costa Rica uses 3Way system for signal monitoring

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Internet and cable service provider company Telecable of Costa Rica uses 5 Round Robin monitoring systems from 3Way Solutions for its TV signal distribution network. This guarantees the highest level of quality in the TV signals that reach cable service users, with a very low investment cost. Each system has an RF input with a PAL or NTSC tuner, and an HDMI input to take the output of a Set Top Box, which is automatically controlled by infrared (IR).

Round Robin is a tool designed specifically by 3Way Solutions for the cable operator who needs to perform technical control of multiple signals at a low cost. The system scans the analog signals (PAL or NTSC), as well as the digital signals (automatically tuning them by sending IR commands to the Set Top Box), and carries out a very detailed technical analysis of each of the signals, in order to guarantee maximum quality in the set of signals that reach each subscriber of the cable television service.

The system stores a sample and historical status for each signal, allowing operators to review alarm types and timing and export reports to Excel. It automatically tunes through the full channel lineup, recording each sample's date, time and service status.

This is another creative solution from 3Way Solutions, with great functionality and reasonable cost, to solve specific needs of broadcasters. Other solutions developed by 3Way Solutions under the same criteria are Clipping, Multiviewer, Logging, TV Distribution, and MAM.

Round Robin is completely configurable via the web, and generates a report of channel failure alarms so that the Cable Operator finds out as soon as possible and can test more than 750 TV channels in 2 inputs. It has the possibility of having analog and digital inputs, and also allows you to view live video or a specific sequence of the scan that is recorded for later review purposes.
